Windows on ARM for the Win: Lenovo Launches IdeaPad 5G Clamshell Laptop

The push for ARM is expected to gain traction this year, and Lenovo wants to be one of the first companies bringing new devices running on ARM power.

Today, the PC maker announced the new IdeaPad 5G, a clamshell laptop joining the company’s mid-range series of products but this time with 5G capabilities.

The IdeaPad 5G is powered by the 2018 Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor, so it’s not exactly the latest-generation chip, though it should still be able to provide good performance and battery life anyway.

The laptop sports a 14-inch FHD display with a 90 percent screen to body ratio, and the chip is paired with 7GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. It features a fanless design and a 51 WHr battery supposed to provide up to 20 hours per charge.
