What’s New in Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4601319

Microsoft’s February 2021 Patch Tuesday rollout also includes a cumulative update for Windows 10 version 2004 and 20H2 (the two share the same cumulative updates).

Windows 10 cumulative update KB4601319 is obviously focused on security improvements, and it includes patches that have previously been tested by Microsoft as part of the previous optional cumulative update.

As a result, KB4601319 resolves a possible elevation of privilege vulnerability in the win32k component, and this makes the cumulative update a must-have right now.

In addition, there’s a fix for a bug that could damage the file system on some devices and prevent them from starting up after running chkdsk /f, as Microsoft itself explains in the official changelog.
