Top Apple Analyst Says Massive Camera Upgrade for iPhone 13 Very Likely

One of the features Apple is focusing on for the next-generation iPhone is the camera, with a recent report indicating the company wants to improve the ultra-wide lens on the device, all in an attempt to provide users with better performance in low light.

And now top Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo corroborates the report, explaining that Chinese supplier Sunny Optical is expected to enter Apple’s iPhone playground with its very own 7P wide-angle lens for the upcoming smartphones.

The new iPhones are therefore expected to come with a wider aperture for the ultra-wide camera lens, with some sources claiming that what Apple is aiming for is f/1.8. The current iPhone 12 ships with f/2.4.

Kuo says Sunny Optical could help Apple add a second 7P lens supplier besides Largan, thus also allowing the company to negotiate prices more aggressively.
