The Little Things: Windows 11 Needs a Full Dark Mode

Windows 11 is launching next month as the bigger overhaul of Microsoft’s desktop operating system in years, and while it does come with significant improvements, there’s no doubt there still is plenty of room for improvements.

One of our readers pointed me to a Feedback Hub suggestion that makes perfect sense: Microsoft should bring the dark mode in Windows 11 everywhere across the operating system, as offering a mixed approach makes the operating system feel like a half-baked product.

And these people are right. As you can see in this screenshot right here (captured on the latest Windows 11 preview build), the dark mode is yet to cover some essential parts of the operating system, including the file properties screen.

So while Windows 11 has indeed improved some areas, it left behind others, and someone who uses the operating system for productivity can’t help but notice this every day.
