First and foremost, Firefox 102 can now mitigate query parameter tracking with navigating sites in ETR strict mode, as announced by Mozilla in the official release notes.
For many users, however, the biggest changes is the support for disabling the automatic opening of the download panel when a new download starts.
In other words, Mozilla is further refining the behavior that was introduced in Firefox 98, thus giving users more control over the way downloads are handled. Users can configure the download panel to automatically open and also choose whether files should be saved to a specific downloads folder or see a prompt to choose the destination folder.
