Microsoft to Launch OneDrive for Apple Silicon Preview Next Month

Microsoft has announced that a preview of OneDrive with Apple Silicon support would be released to testers next month, while everybody else will receive it by early next year.

OneDrive running natively on M1 chips would obviously allow the app to benefit from the performance improvements brought by Apple’s custom ARM-based processor.

Apple originally announced Apple Silicon in the fall of 2022, and since then, developers across the world, Microsoft included, are working non-stop on preparing their apps for the platform.

Known Folder Move coming to macOS as well

The Redmond-based software giant has also announced another major update for OneDrive on macOS, confirming that Known Folder Move would land on Apple’s platform early next year.

“Known Folder Move (KFM) for all macOS users will be available early next year, giving them the ability to keep their Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders protected by syncing them to the cloud with OneDrive. … (read more)
