Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Cumulative Update KB5012643

Microsoft has released a new optional cumulative update for Windows 11 users, obviously as a preview of the next major update cycle due in May.

Windows 11 cumulative update KB5012643 therefore needs to be manually updated from Windows Update, with all devices where automatic updates are enabled to get all improvements as part of the next Patch Tuesday release.

The update comes with several notable bug fixes, including for a glitch that caused video subtitles to be partially cut off. At the same time, Microsoft says it has resolved a bug that caused these subtitles to be incorrectly aligned, as well as a glitch that prevented users from using the minimize, maximize, and close buttons in a maximized app window.

More improvements

Microsoft says it has also resolved an error that caused a Blue Screen of Death on some devices during the startup process.

As usual, there are also fixes specifically aimed at enterprises.
