Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB5009596 for Insiders

Microsoft has just released a new cumulative update, though this time, it’s only aimed at users enrolled in the Release Preview channel and running Windows 10 builds.

The new cumulative update is KB5009596, and it increases the OS build number to 19044.1499.

Needless to say, this update mostly comes down to bug fixes and other various improvements, as compared to the security patches that were released as part of the Update Tuesday cycle earlier this week.

For example, KB5009596 introduces a reminder in Internet Explorer 11 that warns users of the upcoming demise of the browser, while also bringing a new feature to make it more straightforward to select the Microsoft Edge profile from News & interests.

Easier transition to Windows 11

At the same time, the software giant says it added a new feature called Sync Your Settings and specifically developed to make the transmission from Windows 10 to Windows 11 a bit more seamless and convenient.
