Kensington Joins the Windows Hello Game with a Fingerprint Reader

Windows Hello is Microsoft’s big bet for a world without passwords, and in the last few years, the company has been pushing harder and harder to provide users with more hardware in this regard.

Kensington is now joining this long-term strategy as well with its very own fingerprint reader certified for Windows Hello, thus making it easier for users to authenticate into their Windows 10 computers without entering a password.

The VeriMark Desktop Fingerprint Key is powered via USB and is compatible with Windows Hello, Windows Hello for Business, and a series of Microsoft services such as Office 365, Azure, and Outlook.

Kensington promises end-to-end security and the ability to store up to 10 fingerprints with FIDO U2F-certified and FIDO2 WebAuthn-compatible features.
