Indiana Jones Movies Are Getting Re-Released In 4K, Approved By Spielberg

The Indiana Jones films are iconic in cinema but they have never been released in 4K. That’s set to change very soon, as Paramount has announced it is re-releasing the movies in 4K Ultra HD for the first time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Remastered versions of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be released on June 8 in a mega-collection. Pricing was not announced.

The new versions have Dolby Vision and Dolby Audio support, along with remixed sound from Skywalker Sound and sound designer Ben Burtt. The remastered visuals are based on 4K scans of the original negatives, enhanced by “extensive visual effects work.” Steven Spielberg, the director of the franchise, apparently personally approved the new look. The package also comes with seven hours of bonus content–check out the list below, as compiled by Collider.
