Benedict Cumberbatch has shared some new insight about his time on the set of Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, speaking specifically about how great it’s been working with director Sam Raimi.
Raimi came aboard Doctor Strange 2 after Scott Derrickson–the director of the original–left the project due to creative differences with Marvel. Cumberbatch told the AP that it’s been “great” working with Raimi on the film, saying he is funny, generous, and helpful.

“It’s going to be great,” Cumberbatch said. “It’s fantastic working with Sam. He has such an extraordinary energy and humor. He meets everything with a smile and a joke, and he’s a great collaborator as well, even for someone as experienced and iconic as him. He’s able to absorb everything and help with everything in such a generous and inclusive way. He’s a delight to work with. We’re having a blast. We’re having a really good time. I hope the movie is good. We’re certainly having a good time making it.”
